The issue is further compounded by most of the status effects limiting the player's movement in some way. Tama does have a dash move, but it's tied to the same stamina meter that's used for special attacks, frustratingly limiting its use. This becomes an issue when the player is forced to backtrack across the stage to find a key, which can take forever. Even the roads between the stages to break up the procedurally generated parts are far too long. The character movement speed is slow and the levels are too big and open. It doesn't help that most weapons (including the Sword of the Necromancer) have a notable end lag after performing a chain of attacks, leaving players open to counters in a frustrating manner. The biggest issue with the game involves its poor controls (at least on Switch), which feel floaty and unresponsive to player input. All of this is to say that Sword of the Necromancer has a great premise, but it's let down with its execution.
